Equal Opportunity Planning Committee (EOPC) 20th Anniversary Recognition and Calendar

Recognizing our progress along the path

During the 2003-04 academic year, the Equal Opportunity Planning Committee (EOPC) recognized its 20th anniversary of promoting diversity initiatives across Penn State. Since 1983 EOPC has supported numerous programs that have sought to make Penn State a more equitable and welcoming university for all of its constituents. The goal of the 20th anniversary recognition was to focus attention on Penn State's diversity accomplishments over the past twenty years while, at the same time, to encourage renewed efforts so that Penn State could more completely realize its diversity goals during the next twenty years. "Library Talk on the history of EOPC and diversity at Penn State," featuring Dr. James B. Stewart, professor of labor and industrial relations and African and African American studies and Mr. William Asbury, emeritus vice president for student affairs. Mr. Asbury was the first chair of EOPC and Dr. Stewart was an original member and former chair of EOPC.
