Linking EOPC Proposals to Unit Strategic Plan

All EOPC proposals must be linked to the 2010-15 Framework diversity strategic plan and/or the current general strategic plan of the unit the Project Director works in. This page provides some information on linking your proposal to your unit's general strategic plan. For instructions on linking the proposal to your 2010-15 Framework unit diversity strategic plan, go to Linking EOPC Proposals to the 2010-15 Framework Unit Diversity Strategic Plan.

Your EOPC proposal needs to identify a statement(s) in your unit's current strategic plan that indicates that your proposal will contribute to your unit's diversity goals. Hopefully, your unit's strategic plans contains some statements about your unit's diversity initiatives. The purpose of this requirement is to ensure that your unit's diversity goals support the purpose and goals of your program. Proposals that are not supported by the unit's stated diversity goals have little chance of being continued beyond the five-year EOPC funding period. If your unit's strategic plan does not have a statement that supports your proposal, you may need to contact someone in your unit who is involved in the strategic planning process and discuss how your unit can better articulate its diversity goals in its strategic plan. The other alternative is to develop a proposal that is better connected with your unit's strategic plan or to link your proposal to your unit's 2010-15 Framework diversity strategic plan.

You will probably need to contact someone in the central office of your administrative unit to obtain your unit's strategic plan, although some units distribute their plan throughout the unit or post it on the unit Web site.

Please contact Mike Blanco, 814-863-7890, if you have any questions about this process.
