Penn State IT Principles

As of September 2012, the Penn State IT Community has adopted a set of principles to guide all of our work.

Penn State IT Principles

  • We will align IT resources and plans with the University's Strategic Plan.
  • We are committed to responsible stewardship of human, financial, and environmental resources.
  • We will make our systems and services accessible.
  • We are committed to collaboration and open communication across all units.
  • We will encourage innovation.
  • We will actively develop and support our staff.
  • We will maximize value and reduce cost through collaborative processes for sourcing and high utilization of enterprise services.
  • We will identify risks, implement proactive security measures, and be consistent with policy and law.
