Wei Jie (Jack) Zheng

Major: Biomedical Engineering (Pre-Medicine)
Class Standing: Sophomore
Ethnicity: Chinese

Hey everyone!! My name is Jack Zheng, and I am a sophomore majoring in biomedical engineering. I was born in China and moved to the United States with my family when I was 4 years old. I am from the Pittsburgh area. Last year, I was a mentee in the AASIA program, and I found it very helpful to have an upperclassmen to help guide me through the transition into college. It was also nice just to have someone to talk to if I was struggling. I've learned a lot throughout my freshman year trying to balance everything I was doing, and I hope to use my freshman experience to help guide the mentees through theirs.

When I first arrived at Penn State, I made sure to get involved. I am member of a Thon organization called Everyday THON (where I hold the secretary position), the FastStart Alumni Association, the Biomedical Engineering Society, and Global Medical Brigades. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends, eating food, and staying active. I love all types of sports, but my favorite is basketball. I also play tennis, football, and like going for runs around campus.

After my time at Penn State, I hope to either attend medical school or enter grad school for biomedical engineering. I have always been interested in the medical field and helping people feel better.

I am very excited for this upcoming school year and can't wait to meet all of you. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. See you all soon!
