Nontalie J. Morrow, M.S.
Graduate Assistant Counselor
Nontalie J. Morrow, was born in Dallas, Texas and grew up in Atlanta, Georgia with her mom, dad, and younger brother. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Spanish minor from Valdosta State University in 2011. During her time in Valdosta, she decided to pursue a career in Student Affairs/Higher Education due to the support she received as a student leader on campus. Subsequently, she enrolled at the University of Kansas (KU) where she completed her Master of Science in Education in Higher Education Administration in 2013. As a graduate student, she also worked in the Office of Multicultural Affairs which strived to “cultivate an inclusive campus community through social justice and academic success.”
After completing her Master’s, Nontalie moved to Kansas City, MO where she worked as a Post-Secondary Advisor and a Secondary Coach for Kauffman Scholars Incorporated (KSI). KSI is a non-profit organization that works to improve college access for low-income and/or first generation students in the Kansas City area. For two years, Nontalie worked with high school students to provide assistance in their college and career planning process.
Nontalie decided to return to graduate school to pursue her PhD in Higher Education and to work with college students directly. One of her greatest passions is college student development and she wants to provide a space where students can explore their identities, grow, and critically think about the world around them. She also wants to advocate for students to make sure their voices are represented throughout the institution. Nontalie is very excited to study at Penn State and work as a graduate assistant in the MRC.
Outside of the office, you are likely to find Nontalie in worship service or bible study with her church, researching and preparing for classes, riding around on her longboard, or catching up on videos/vlogs from her favorite YouTubers. Her door is always open and she would really enjoy hearing from you.
