Collins Airhihenbuwa, Ph.D.,


Collins Airhihenbuwa is this year's faculty recipient of the W. LaMarr Kopp International Achievement Award. He is a professor in the department of Biobehavioral Health in the College of Health and Human Development.

He has an established record and long history of international research. His research focuses on the centrality of culture in health behavior and his cultural model for studying the cultural contexts of health behavior is used globally. He is currently involved in HIV and AIDS research in South Africa and Senegal. He has received an award at the University's faculty/staff award ceremony March 20, 2006.
