Tips for Time Management

Assignments for classes can seem overwhelming. Sometimes all it takes is a bit of preparation at the beginning of the semester to make you feel ready to tackle the coursework ahead of you.

There are many ways to get organized and each can work for different individuals. We recommend that you breakdown each course into major assignments due throughout the semester, like exams and papers, and put them all on one or two pages that you can refer to at a glance to see what is due. It is helpful to have it all in one to two pages so that you can prepare ahead, especially if you know you have a busy week coming up. To help you do that, please click the “Penn State Spring 2018 Semester Calendar” below. This document has been very useful to students.

In this document place assignments on the date they are due, you can get creative and use different colors or fonts for each class. Do anything that will make it easier for you to understand your term calendar and use it often. There is also an “Example Spring 2018 Semester Calendar” so you can see the ways that other students have used this tool.

Many student only need a term calendar to tackle the assignments due during the semester. If you need further help or would like to work on a bi-weekly calendar, complete your term calendar and send it to your Disability Specialist by email. Explain how you may need further assistance with and they might be able to help you or schedule an appointment for you.
