Design teams are constantly looking for new and improved ways to deliver quality content effectively online, and Adobe Captivate is a popular tool to do so.  The World Campus Learning Design has assembled a team to investigate the use of Adobe Captivate as a means of efficiently designing and developing accessible interactive objects and content to be embedded within the Canvas LMS. We will present some of our initial findings and best practices regarding how to create accessible content that is responsive, mobile-friendly, and fully compatible with Canvas.

Objectives

  • Explore some of the ways Captivate can be used to design and create online course content
  • Review the basics of how to create Captivate projects that are accessible and mobile-friendly
  • Discover tools and templates which ensure that content is read out in a screen reader
  • Learn to add appropriate keyboard shortcuts
  • Explore the options available for integrating Captivate with the Canvas LMS
