Who is Project Spoonies?

Project Spoonies is a subcommittee of the Community Diversity Group, who aims to foster a community based on inclusion and equity.  Project Spoonies is dedicated to providing support for individuals with chronic illnesses and educating the community at large about living with chronic illnesses and disabilities.  Their The goal is to create a supportive environment for students and provide opportunities to connect with peers who may have similar experiences as college students.

What is the meeting format?

The peer support groups will be bi-weekly hour-long sessions.  There will be an in-person session every other Tuesday from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm in SDR’s 101 Boucke.  An online session will also be offered every other Wednesday from 6 pm to 7 pm via Zoom that will be open to Commonwealth/World Campus students.  Students at University Park who are more comfortable with the online-format are welcome to participate as well.

The support groups will function under an open format, so students are welcome to come and go at their convenience!

You can contact Project Spoonies through their Facebook/Instagram page @ProjectSpoonies or through their email, projectspoonies@gmail.com, for more information.
