“What makes the desert beautiful,' said the little prince, 'is that somewhere it hides a well...”
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince

Melissa is the daughter of an Air Force Colonel, making her journey through childhood both philosophical and geographical. Born in Laundstuhl, Germany, she spent many years traveling as a young woman whose father served multiple ambassadors throughout Europe. When they finally settled in the Uniteds States, Melissa became a resident of Southern California. Never one to be idle, she married an active duty Navy person who toted her around the Pacific Northwest, but returned her to Southern California upon his discharge from the military.
