Guided by the Office of the Vice Provost for Educational Equity, the Joint Commission for Community, Advocacy, and Belonging serves as an advisory body that examines issues impacting the Penn State community and provides thoughtful, evidence-informed insights to university leadership.

The Joint Commission focuses on fostering a campus environment grounded in respect, shared responsibility, and belonging. Through dialogue, analysis, and collaborative engagement, the commission offers recommendations that support institutional values, strengthen community connections, and contribute to a campus culture where all members can thrive.

The Joint Commission is composed of up to fifteen members, inclusive of undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, staff, and administrators representing Penn State’s campuses. Membership reflects a broad range of perspectives, experiences, and roles across the University. Individuals who are interested in contributing to constructive dialogue, informed inquiry, and community-centered solutions are encouraged to participate.
