Demystifying Penn State Research Centers and Institutes

Advancing your research portfolio is a key faculty objective.  This session will focus on helping you build and move your research portfolio forward by introducing Penn State faculty across all campuses to the plethora of innovative research occurring at the PRC.  Faculty affiliated with the PRC use science to build a healthier and just world for individuals, families, and communities, and believe in promoting human flourishing and preventing problems that cause human suffering. Dr. Sarah Chilenski, Research Professor at the Edna Bennett Research Center, co-lead of the Group to Reduce Inequities in Prevention, and Senior Faculty Mentor will lead a panel presentation with faculty connected to the PRC. 

Each faculty will first give an overview of their research foci and projects.  Then, they will share opportunities for collaboration and data-sharing.  Last, they will preview where they see their research portfolio moving in the future.  It will close with an opportunity for discussion with and to ask questions to panelists. This session will encourage faculty to consider which faculty or research projects sound most interesting and worthwhile to explore collaboration. Faculty will be encouraged to follow up with one-on-one mentoring sessions with Dr. Chilenski to strategize next steps to engage with relevant faculty and projects.
