How she expanded her
sphere of influence

My proudest moments occur when the faculty members whom I mentor earn promotion and tenure or when staff members and students are recognized for their accomplishments. There is nothing more rewarding than helping colleagues achieve their goals. Sharing in these significant moments in a person's career will always be special to me.

How she uses her influence to advance the mission
of Penn State and equity

My leadership philosophy finds its origins in a servant-leadership model, which is about seeking out the best in people and helping them to maximize their potential through their strengths. It is about believing in people, working with others, and empowering them to believe in themselves and bring their ideas to fruition. To be the best possible servant-leader, I aspire toward opportunities to share my vision with others so that we can succeed in meeting our individual and collective goals.

"Don't be afraid to dive in, roll up your sleeves, and work hard. Most important, always be humble and remember that every person in your organization makes a unique contribution."
