Communications and Marketing

Communications developed by units in the Office of the Vice Provost for Educational Equity require review to maintain the University's visual and editorial design standards.

Print and Electronic Communications

To ensure the quality and consistency of all print and electronic communications, as well as promotional merchandise for the Office of the Vice Provost for Educational Equity, an editorial and visual review of these items is required.

Items needing review include, but are not limited to:

  • Catalogs and handbooks
  • Calendars of events
  • Certificates
  • Flyers
  • Fund-raising materials
  • Letters
  • Magazines
  • Maps
  • Newsletters
  • Periodicals
  • Postcards
  • Posters
  • Pocket folders
  • PowerPoint presentations
  • Program and course guides
  • Programs and invitations (for special or sponsored events)
  • Promotional publications in electronic format
  • Recruitment materials
  • Rack cards
  • Training manuals
  • Video inclusion

Publications requiring UBR numbers


Apparel and Merchandise

Examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Award plaques
  • Coffee mugs
  • Pens
  • Table covers
  • Tote bags
  • T-shirts
  • Water bottles

All merchandise must be purchased through a licensed Penn State vendor.

IMPORTANT: All print procurement includes the Multimedia Specialist who will work directly with a customer service representative at the Multimedia Print Center (MPC). All print projects MUST be produced by Penn State approved vendors.

Educational Equity units will continue to coordinate office stationery (e.g., letterhead, and business cards, #10 envelopes), through the MPC directly.
