Carolyn Inhoffer Montes, ’88 Bus.

  • Consultant

Carolyn graduated from Penn State’s Smeal College of Business with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing with an emphasis on International Business and Sports Marketing in 1988.  While in college, her notable activities included being a member of the equestrian team, studying abroad in Cologne, Germany, working in the football office under Coach Paterno, and interning with Dr. Don Sheffield to research and then launch what is now known as the Morgan Academic Center.

She began her career in sports marketing, working in a few regional offices of national not-for-profit organizations. She parlayed these experiences into positions in sales, service, and operational leadership for several healthcare service companies. Carolyn calls herself ‘semi-retired’ these days and enjoys traveling, engaging and being present for all friends and family, mentoring high school and college students, supporting Penn State, but most of all, enjoying every day to its fullest.

Carolyn is a dynamic and passionate thinker and connector of people, ideas, and resources, driven by the efforts of those around her and channeling that inspiration into thoughtful guidance and impactful progressive giving. As a proud Penn Stater, she is a strong advocate for the dedication and support of military service communities with whom she shares a deep personal connection. Carolyn’s warm, welcoming nature and enthusiasm foster meaningful conversations and create a sense of purpose and belonging wherever she engages.
