Life Transitions for Students with Intellectual Disabilities from High School to College to Work

  • April 2, 2019
  • 2:00 p.m.
  • 102 Paterno Library - Foster Auditorium

Come and hear the stories of students in LifeLink, learn about Work Link from faculty who have brought this program to Penn State, and meet alumni of Life Link who are now working in the community.  Community employers such as Good Day Café, Penn State, and Tap Root Kitchen will also be available to discuss employment opportunities.

These programs are open to the public, parents of students are encouraged to attend, at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2019, in Foster Auditorium, 102 Paterno Library. The event will also be streamed online for viewing via Mediasite Live.

LifeLink is a partnership between the State College Area School District and the Penn State College of Education. Qualified SCASD students with disabilities, aged 18-21, can take classes at University Park. Penn State students volunteer to mentor those students.

WorkLink, scheduled to begin fall of 2019, will provide academic and career preparation experiences for students and will emphasize self-determination, advocacy, independent living and social inclusion on Penn State's University Park campus
