Ajay and Paayal Nair Social Justice Scholarship

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to undergraduate students enrolled at The Pennsylvania State University who provide outstanding leadership in activities such as, but not limited to, student government, social services, or mass media efforts at the University, and who volunteer or have developed a plan of action to contribute to the betterment and/or fair treatment of underserved populations.

Arnold and Isabel Barnes Kempton Scholarship

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled at The Pennsylvania State University who are either a part of underrepresented minority groups, first generation students, have demonstrated financial need, or from a single-parent household with a grade point average of at least 2.5.

Berquist Family Bunton-Waller Scholarship

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time undergraduate students
enrolled or planning to enroll at the University who are participants in the Bunton/Waller Program, or successor program, whose gender, race, ethnic, cultural, and/or national background contribute to the diversity of the student body, and who have a demonstrated financial need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses.

Blanco, Gersie, and Thompson Scholarship in Educational Equity

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at The Pennsylvania State University who have a demonstrated financial need and whose ethnic, cultural, and/or national background contribute to the diversity of the student body. First preference shall be given to students who are receiving support from the Multicultural Resources Center.

Bowen Family Scholarship in Educational Equity

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at the University who have achieved at a grade point average of 3.0 or above and who have demonstrated financial need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses.

  1. First preference shall be given to students enrolled or planning to enroll in the College of Agricultural Sciences;
  2. Second preference shall be given to students enrolled or planning to enroll in the Smeal College of Business.

Cora W. and Eugene K. Wethers, Jr. Scholarship in Educational Equity

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at the University whose gender, ethnic, cultural, and/or national background contribute to the diversity of the student body and who have a demonstrated financial need. First preference shall be given to students who are first generation college students, and/or who are pursuing a course of study in science, technology, engineering or mathematics.

Daisey Family Scholarship in Educational Equity

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time undergraduate students who are enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State University park who have a demonstrated financial need and who either:

  1. Promote the diversity of the student body at Penn State university Park through their participation and leadership in one of the many student organizations that advocate for and promote the well being of
    underrepresented populations; or
  2. Are majoring in or planning to major in African American Studies.

Derrickson Family Bunton-Waller Scholarship

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time undergraduate students
enrolled or planning to enroll at the University who are participants in the Bunton-Waller Program, or successor program, whose gender, race, ethnic, cultural, and/or national background contribute to the diversity of the student body, and who have a demonstrated financial need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses.

Dhargalkar Family Scholarship ** New 

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to a full-time undergraduate student who are enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State, University Park who are children of immigrants to the United States and who have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. To qualify for the scholarship, both of the student’s birth parents must have been born outside of the United States as non-United States citizens. A student’s birth parents’ citizenship or immigration status at the time of awarding will not impact a student’s eligibility for the scholarship.  

Drs. Dale and Ona Adair Family Scholarship in Educational Equity

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time undergraduate students who are enrolled or planning to enroll at the University and who have a demonstrated financial need and whose gender, race, ethnic, cultural, and/or national background contribute to the diversity of the student body. First preference shall be given to eligible recipients who are enrolled or planning to enroll in the Eberly College of Science.

Edward Thompson and Patricia Jackson-Thompson Scholarship

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time graduate and undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State University Park who have achieved a minimum grade point average of 3.0; who have a demonstrate; and whose ethnic, cultural, and/or national background contribute to the diversity of the student body. 

Eric H. Pratt Family Trustee Scholarship for Educational Equity

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at The Pennsylvania State University who have a demonstrated financial need. First preference shall be given to students whose home address of record is in Berks County, Pennsylvania.

Forrest and Ruth Fenstermaker Trustee Scholarship in Educational Equity

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at The Pennsylvania State University who have a demonstrated financial need. First preference shall be given to students from the eligible pool who are majoring in Forest Science.

Franklin Family Undergraduate Endowed Scholarship in Educational Equity

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to incoming freshmen undergraduate students enrolled full-time at the University, regardless of grade-point average, whose race, ethnic, cultural, gender, and/or national background contribute to the diversity of the student body, who have demonstrated financial need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses, and who are first-generation. Additionally,
a student must meet one or more of the following:

  1. The student has learning differences, as demonstrated by a documented learning disability with the University's Student Disability Resources office; and/or
  2. The student has past or current work experience; and/or
  3. The student has eligible dependents.

Gary and Ralphine Gentzler Trustee Scholarship

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at The Pennsylvania State University who have a demonstrated financial need. First preference shall be given to students who are the first generation in their families to attend a college or university.

Harold E. and V. Arlene Cheatham Educational Equity Scholarship

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State New Kensington or Penn State University Park who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success; who have a demonstrated financial need; and, whose ethnic, cultural and/or national background contribute to the diversity of the student body. First preference shall be given to students who graduate from Valley High School, New Kensington, Pennsylvania.

Harry and Susan Kauffman Bunton-Waller Scholarship

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at the University who are participants in the BuntonWaller Program, or successor program, whose gender, race, ethnic, cultural, and/or national background contribute to the diversity of the student body, and who have a demonstrated financial need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses.

Hogan-Frost Scholarship in Educational Equity

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to undergraduate students enrolled or are planning to enroll at The Pennsylvania State University who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success; who have a demonstrated financial need; and, whose ethnic, cultural and/or national background contribute to the diversity of the student body. First preference shall be given to students who participate in the Blends of Traditional Heritages (B.O.T.H.) student group.

James P. and Barbara J. Palumbo Boodon Family Scholarships in Educational Equity

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at the University who have a demonstrated financial need. From the identified pool of students, and to the extent possible, first preference shall be given to students who participated in Upward Bound or similar program.

John Robert and Mary Anne O’Leary Memorial Scholarship in Educational Equity

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at The Pennsylvania State University who have a demonstrated financial need and whose ethnic, cultural and/or national background contribute to the diversity of the student body. First preference shall be given to students whose home address of record is in Blair County, Pennsylvania.

Joyce J. Shorts and Troy J. Shorts Scholarship in Educational Equity

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at The Pennsylvania State University who have a demonstrated financial need and whose ethnic, cultural and/or national background contribute to the diversity of the student body. 

New Faces of an Ancient People Traditional Powwow Trustee Scholarship

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at The Pennsylvania State University who have a demonstrated financial need. First preference shall be given to students who identify as Native American.

Penico Family Trustee Scholarship for Education Equity

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at The Pennsylvania State University who have a demonstrated  financial need. First preference shall be given to students enrolled or planning to enroll in the College of Liberal Arts.

Penn State Alumni Association Trustee Scholarship

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll in any program affiliated with the Office of Educational Equity at The Pennsylvania State University who have demonstrated financial need.

Steven and Elizabeth Singh Scholarship in Educational Equity

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at The Pennsylvania State University whose gender, ethnic, cultural, and/or national background contribute to the diversity of the student body. First preference shall be given to students who are enrolled or planning to enroll in the College of Engineering.

Suzanne P. Paterno Diversity Scholarship

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at The Pennsylvania State University whose ethnic, cultural, and/or national background contribute to the diversity of the student body. First preference shall be given to African American students.

W. Terrell Jones Memorial Bunton-Waller Scholarship

Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at the University who are participants in the Bunton-Waller Program, or successor program, whose gender, race, ethnic, cultural, and/or national background contribute to the diversity of the student body, and who have a demonstrated financial need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses.
