Rick is the Vice President of External Manufacturing at Organon. He is an experienced pharmaceutical director who has held numerous site and global positions at Merck and Organon. Over his 33+ years in Pharma, Rick has worked in a broad range of areas including: Manufacturing Operations, Quality, and Product Development.

Rick, his wife Amy (PSU ’92, Hospitality Management), are currently based in Lucerne, Switzerland. They have three children, Conno (JMU ’19, Econ), Kyle (UVM ’21, Fin) and Rylie Derrickson (PSU ’27 Edu), who are living in the family home in Landsdale, PA. 

Rick's interest in the objectives and procedures of the Educational Equity Advisory Board began through a close friendship formed within Penn State's corporate networks. This relationship has since blossomed into a close-knit community that includes international Penn State networks.

His observant, analytical, and empathetic nature, coupled with his strong desire to contribute, highlights his eagerness to engage and make a lasting impact, instilling a sense of hope and optimism in those he works with.
