Educational Equity Staff Advisory Council (EESAC)
What is the EE SAC?
The Educational Equity Staff Advisory Council is a staff-led group that supports connection, communication, and professional development within Educational Equity.
- ✓ Build relationships and belonging across roles.
- ✓ Identify shared themes and needs.
- ✓ Offer thoughtful input to leadership.
- ✓ Strengthen how we live our values in everyday practice.
How the EE SAC works
The EE SAC uses a hybrid participation model: a small group of elected representatives, alongside open events and conversations for all Educational Equity staff.
Elected representatives
A group of elected staff members serve as EESAC representatives, with a good-faith effort to reflect a range of roles and OVPEE areas: Central Staff and Learning, Engagement, and Partnerships; Office of Scholars Programs; Office of Veterans Programs; Student Disability Resources; Talent Search, and Upward Bound.
Open engagement for all staff
You don't need to be an elected representative to participate. All Educational Equity staff are welcome at EESAC-sponsored events, community-building activities, and conversations. You can share ideas or feedback with any current representative.
Charter and values
The full EE SAC Charter defines our purpose, values, membership model, meeting structure, and budget process. It draws inspiration from other Penn State Staff Advisory Council models while intentionally adopting a structure aligned with Educational Equity’s values and needs.
