Proposal preparation checklist
Before you apply, make sure you can answer these questions:
- What equity gap or opportunity are you addressing?
- How does your project align with the EDGE mission and Penn State priorities?
- What outcomes will you measure?
- How will you assess progress?
- What financial support will your unit provide?
- How will the project continue after EDGE funding ends?
- Will you use AI, and if so, how will you protect privacy, fairness, and transparency?
Responsible use of AI
EDGE anticipates the responsible and ethical use of artificial intelligence tools in the grant process.
AI may be used to:
- Enhance proposal writing and evaluation
- Monitor program impact
- Strengthen equity assessment methods
- Support proposal review workflow
AI use is:
- Optional
- Subject to University data governance and privacy standards
- Subject to human oversight
- Opt-out available through the proposal form
