Workshops

Educational Equity will offer two workshops designed to support grant applicants and recipients. The first workshop will provide guidance on developing and submitting a grant proposal. The second workshop will focus on communication and collaboration across teams and disciplines. Attendance at the second workshop is required for Principal Investigators seeking to apply for a second year of funding.

Proposal Writing - Workshop 1

Participants will learn about:

  • EDGE program funding
  • Proposal components
  • Proposal review process

The Office of Educational Equity will offer a one-hour virtual EDGE Proposal Writing Workshop on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at 11 a.m. Be sure to register and mark your calendar. 

Grant Collaboration - Workshop 2

Supports participants to:

  • Strengthen partnerships across units or stakeholder groups
  • Share practices and lessons learned with other EDGE recipients
  • Improve readiness for renewal and long-term sustainability
  • Consider how collaboration can deepen impact on faculty, staff, and student success

Educational Equity plans to offer a new Grant Collaboration Workshop in either the Fall 2027 or Spring 2028 semester (TBD), timed to coincide with first-year program awards. Principal Investigators in their first year of programming are required to attend this professional development workshop to be eligible to apply for a second year of funding. All interested participants are welcome to attend. Please check back for the workshop date and registration information.  

Assessment Workshops and Webinars

Penn State's Office of Planning, Assessment, and Institutional Research (OPAIR) offers assessment workshops and webinars. Its assessment workshop resources include Centering Equity in Assessment, Centering Equity in Program Assessment, and the Quick Start Guide to Program Assessment, which provide valuable guidance for assessment planning and practices.
