Gloria Swanson

  • Student Success Counselor, Serving William Penn Senior High School

Gloria Swanson is a native of Colombia, South America, and has been serving students through the Penn State Talent Search Program in York since 2015. When Gloria moved to the United States, she knew just 1% of the English language she now speaks fluently. As Talent Search’s primary bilingual counselor, she supports other programs with translation services and helping to navigate ESL students’ experience with the program. Gloria also supported the Educational Opportunity Centers in York and Reading from 2017 to 2022 with translation services, community event planning, and recruitment. She loves empowering students to succeed during and outside of the school day through education. Prior to joining the Talent Search team Gloria worked with the Migrant Education Program in her community and held multiple human resources and management level positions in Colombia.
