Renew

How do I renew my grant, and what happens when my project ends?

If you're renewing

Renewal funding is not guaranteed and depends on:

  • Submission of a new program proposal each year
  • Completion of the mid-year check-in
  • Submission of the yearly progress report six weeks after the program year concludes
  • Demonstrated advancement in outcomes
  • Responsible stewardship of funds
  • Evidence of learning and adaptation
  • Continued need for the project
  • Participation in required program activities

Planning for sustainability

Successful EDGE projects should eventually move toward:

  • Unit operating budget support
  • External funding support
  • Broader institutionalization
  • Scalability across the University

Questions to guide planning

  • What part of the project can continue after EDGE funding ends?
  • What resources will be needed to sustain the work?
  • What evidence supports continued investment?
  • Which partners will help carry the project forward?

AI reflections in post-award reporting

If AI tools were used, reports should include:

  • What tools were used
  • How they supported the work
  • Whether the tools improved assessment or reporting
  • Any limitations, concerns, or lessons learned
  • How human oversight and data governance were maintained

If your project is ending

Projects that conclude after one or more years of funding should submit a final summary of:

  • Outcomes achieved
  • Lessons learned
  • Recommendations for institutionalization
  • Recommendations for scale or discontinuation, as appropriate
