Renew
How do I renew my grant, and what happens when my project ends?
If you're renewing
Renewal funding is not guaranteed and depends on:
- Submission of a new program proposal each year
- Completion of the mid-year check-in
- Submission of the yearly progress report six weeks after the program year concludes
- Demonstrated advancement in outcomes
- Responsible stewardship of funds
- Evidence of learning and adaptation
- Continued need for the project
- Participation in required program activities
Planning for sustainability
Successful EDGE projects should eventually move toward:
- Unit operating budget support
- External funding support
- Broader institutionalization
- Scalability across the University
Questions to guide planning
- What part of the project can continue after EDGE funding ends?
- What resources will be needed to sustain the work?
- What evidence supports continued investment?
- Which partners will help carry the project forward?
AI reflections in post-award reporting
If AI tools were used, reports should include:
- What tools were used
- How they supported the work
- Whether the tools improved assessment or reporting
- Any limitations, concerns, or lessons learned
- How human oversight and data governance were maintained
If your project is ending
Projects that conclude after one or more years of funding should submit a final summary of:
- Outcomes achieved
- Lessons learned
- Recommendations for institutionalization
- Recommendations for scale or discontinuation, as appropriate
