Welcome to the Office for Disability Services
Welcome to the Office for Disability Services (ODS) at Penn State University. At Penn State, we are committed to providing a welcoming, encouraging, and empowering environment for students with disabilities to ensure equal access, full participation and reasonable accommodations for their academic pursuits. The Office for Disability Services is responsible for coordinating support services, reasonable academic accommodations, and promoting disability awareness in the university community. The ODS team is committed and ready to assist students with disabilities to reach their academic goals.
Office Name Change
The Office for Disability Services will be changing its name at the end of fall semester 2015 to Student Disability Resources to better communicate the office's mission and its audience.
For more information regarding the name change, please see the Penn State News article posted October 9, 2015.
The Office for Disability Services (ODS) is the designated office that provides reasonable accommodations and services to students with disabilities who are enrolled at the University Park location. In addition, Penn State has a disability services office at every Penn State campus that provides accommodations and services for students with disabilities. Each designated office requests and maintains disability-related documents; certifies eligibility for services; determines and develops plans for reasonable accommodations such as academic adjustments, auxiliary aids, and/or services as mandated under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act, Amendments Act (ADAAA) of 2008 and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
