Craig H. Neilsen Foundation Scholarship

The Craig H. Neilsen Foundation Scholarship can potentially provide funding for full in-state and 125% out-of-state tuition and fees to support students with Spinal Cord Injuries (SCI) for the duration of their degree program. Eligible degree programs are undergraduate (Associates and Bachelor’s) or Master’s.
The application period for the 2024/2025 academic year has passed. Applications for the 2025/2026 academic year will open January 2025.

Craig H. Neilsen imageIn addition, supplemental support funds are also available and can include (but is not limited to) transportation, child care, personal care attendant services, adaptive equipment, books and/or assistive technology.

Eligibility criteria:

Only individuals with neurological and functional impairment due to traumatic SCI, degenerative disease primary to the spinal cord (e.g., transverse myelitis), or damage to the spinal cord due to tumors or tumor surgery are eligible for support through this program.

Individuals with spinal dysfunction, paralysis, or pain syndromes caused by other traumatic or primary orthopedic, genetic, or developmental disorders are not eligible (e.g., multiple sclerosis, ALS, Chiari malformation, peripheral nerve injury, spina bifida)
