Join us for Lunch with LEAADS

A lunch series focused on women's experiences in the workplace

Women faculty working meetingLunch with LEAADS is a new lunch and conversation series that focuses on the experiences of women at Penn State. As you may know, faculty career outcomes, work/life balance, and leadership opportunities differ by gender, and women are less likely than men to reach the highest levels of the faculty. The series provides opportunities for peer mentoring, community building and networking, and career and leadership development that center women’s experiences and contribute to their advancement, career, and leadership development.

Facilitated by Jeanine Staples-Dixon, senior faculty mentor, the October 19th Lunch with LEAADS featured a panel discussion with Penn State women leaders about their varied leadership preparation and paths and was followed in December with a conversation about work/life balance.

Topics vary and while some focus on faculty women, others speak to the experiences of staff women audiences. The series builds on the efforts of LEAADS (Leading Action and Advocacy for a Diverse Leadership at Penn State), a faculty group organized to support the professional development of women faculty colleagues at Penn State.

It is hosted by Senior Faculty Mentors, Office of the Vice Provost for Educational Equity (Jeanine Staples-Dixon, Jennifer Hamer and Holly Hawkins), co-sponsored by the President’s Council for Women; members of LEAADS serve as an advisory body for the series.
