As we work to further enhance student support and success resources within and outside the Office of the Vice Provost for Educational Equity and to redefine the support provided by the Multicultural Resource Center (MRC), we want to emphasize that we are working collaboratively with our colleagues and campus partners to sustain and enhance services to students.

Student Support Resources from the Office of the Vice Provost for Educational Equity 

With staff transitions across several of our units, the Office for the Vice Provost for Educational Equity will use this time of transition – in collaboration with campus partners – to review its academic and scholar-based resources. While only an initial step, the Office of Scholars Programs (OSP) has expanded and enhanced its services to support students of the University Park community at large and to uphold the mission and vision previously set forth by the Multicultural Resource Center.  OSP strives to respond to the evolving strategic priorities for Penn State by reducing equity gaps in student success and fostering stronger pathways for all students. Staffing and other support resources will be reviewed to provide a transformative educational experience for our prospective and current students.  

  • Students seeking academic support services can visit their college’s diversity, equity, and inclusion office. Please find a list of the offices under the Council of College Multicultural Leadership primarily responsible for supporting a diverse student body in the colleges and the graduate school. Students can also stop in or reach out to the Office of Scholars Programs to schedule an appointment with a member of the OSP staff even if they are not a member of a scholarship program. OSP is located in the Grange Building, Suite 220. 

  • Students seeking community support and opportunities for engagement may visit Penn State Student Affairs Community and Belonging. For specific information on identity-based support groups such as the Women of Color Empowerment Group (WOCE), please connect with our partners in the Paul Robeson Cultural Center (PRCC). The staff of the PRCC can provide pathways to community connection, engagement, and broader student support.
