Equatio
EquatlO allows you to create equations, formulas, and more digitally. Equatio also helps users read STEM content aloud in a human-like way.
Who can use Equatio?
All Penn State community members who have an active psu.edu email address can access Equatio. No additional sign up required.
Download App
Download the app using the appropriate link below and install the app following the on-screen instructions.
Signing into Equatio
- Open the installed application.
- When the app asks for authentication: Select the option for Microsoft Office 365.
- On the next screen, enter your Penn State email address (e.g. abc123@psu.edu).
- You will be authenticated through Penn State Web Access.
Toolbar
The toolbar below provides the following options:
- Equation Editor (Σ summation icon)
- LaTeX Editor
- Handwriting Recognition (pencil icon)
- Speech Input (microphone icon)
- Graph Editor (sine wave icon)
- Equatio Mobile (smart phone icon)
- Screenshot Reader (dotted box icon)
Note: This option includes text to speech reading of an equation which has been scanned. - Stem Tools with three options
- Periodic Table
- Scientific Calculator, which includes Braille output and input.
- Molecular Viewer
