The Office of Veterans Programs (OVP) currently administers several scholarships for student veterans, actively serving military members, and military dependents. Information regarding OVP guidelines, descriptions of the scholarships, and an online application form can be found below.

Descriptions of Scholarships Available Through the
Office of Veterans Programs


Antonio Nieves and Emily Sallack Student Success Scholarship in Educational Equity 

Purpose:
The purpose of this scholarship shall be to provide recognition and financial assistance to deserving full-time undergraduate students who are enrolled at The Pennsylvania State University – University Park campus and are a U.S. military member or have at least one family who has served in the U.S. military, first in their family to attend college, and have at least a 3.0 grade point average. 

Eligibility: Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time undergraduate students who are enrolled at Penn State University Park who have demonstrated financial need and whose gender, ethnic, cultural, and/or national background contribute to the diversity of the student body. First preference shall be given to students who have at least one family member who serves or has served in the U.S. military (or who are U.S. military students themselves), who maintain a grade point average of at least 3.0, and who are first in their family to attend college.  



The Betty H. Gofus Trustee Scholarship in Educational Equity

Purpose: 
The purpose of this scholarship shall be to provide financial assistance to undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at The Pennsylvania State University who have demonstrated need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses.

Eligibility: Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at The Pennsylvania State University who have demonstrated financial need. The Office of Veterans Programs is responsible for identifying the eligible pool of students for the Office of Student Aid. First preference shall be given to students from the eligible pool who are veterans.



The Jerry and Jacquelyn Grossman Scholarship for U.S. Military Veterans

Purpose: The purpose of this scholarship shall be to provide recognition and financial assistance to the outstanding undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at The Pennsylvania State University who are veterans of the United States military and who have demonstrated need for funds to meet their necessary college requirements.

Eligibility: Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at The Pennsylvania State University who are veterans of the United States military and who have a demonstrated financial need.  First preference shall be given to students enrolled in the Smeal College of Business and majoring in Finance. Second preference shall be given to students enrolled in the Smeal College of Business. Third preference shall be given to students enrolled in the College of the Liberal Arts and majoring in Economics. Fourth preference shall be given to students enrolled in either the College of Engineering or the College of Information Sciences and Technology.



The George W. and Joanne T. Rauchfuss Scholarship for Veterans

Purpose: The purpose of this scholarship shall be to provide recognition and financial assistance to the outstanding undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at The Pennsylvania State University who have demonstrated need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses and who are veterans (as defined by the U.S. Department of Education) or a documented dependent of a veteran.

Eligibility: Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at The Pennsylvania State University who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success; who have demonstrated financial need; and, who are veterans (as defined by the U.S. Department of Education) or a documented dependent of a veteran.



James R. and Barbara J. Myler Scholarship in Educational Equity

Purpose: The purpose of this scholarship shall be to provide recognition and financial assistance to outstanding full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at the Pennsylvania State University who have a demonstrated need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses, a part of the United States military, and are majoring in or planning to major in Accounting or Finance.

Eligibility: Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time undergraduate United States military students enrolled or planning to enroll at the University who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success and who have a demonstrated financial need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses. For the purposes of this fund, “United States military students” shall be inclusive of veterans, active duty, reservists, or National Guard from all of the United States military services. First preference shall be given to students who are majoring or planning to major in Accounting or Finance, or successor degree programs.



Lawrence A. Tranovich Scholarship

Purpose: The purpose of this scholarship shall be to provide recognition and financial assistance undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at the Pennsylvania State University who have a demonstrated need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses and who are either United States military students or participants in a ROTC program.

Eligibility: Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to full-time undergraduate students majoring in or planning to major in either Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering, or successor degree programs, who have a demonstrated financial need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses, and who are either United States military students or participants in a ROTC program at the University, inclusive of veterans, active duty, reservists, or National Guard.     



Rehab Club Memorial Scholarship

Purpose: The purpose of this scholarship shall be to provide recognition and financial assistance to outstanding students enrolled or planning to enroll at The Pennsylvania State University who have a proven need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses.

Eligibility: Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at The Pennsylvania State University who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success, have good character and who have a proven financial need. First preference shall be given to lineal descendants of World War I veterans. Second preference shall be given to veterans with service-connected or nonservice connected disabilities.



Veterans Special Needs Endowed Scholarship

Purpose: 
The purpose of this scholarship shall be to provide recognition and financial assistance to the outstanding graduate and undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at The Pennsylvania State University who have demonstrated need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses and who are veterans (as defined by the U.S. Department of Education) or a documented dependent of a veteran.

Eligibility: Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to all full-time graduate and undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at The Pennsylvania State University who have achieved superior academic records or who manifest promise of outstanding academic success; who have demonstrated financial need; and, who are veterans (as defined by the U.S. Department of Education) or a documented dependent of a veteran.
